WEDDING ETIQUETTE
When creating a budget, here is some food for thought:
Sound Crazy…… I thought we were going to talk about Etiquette
Etiquette and Budget go hand in hand
Etiquette is subjective, once upon a time it was in print, who pays for what, who is
responsible for what. Today, anything goes, it is perfectly acceptable to meet with
both families and decide what works best for both sides. Typically, one family can
afford more than the other, that is ok, just recognize it and move on accordingly.
Everyone has one thing, the WOW FACTOR, this is the most important thing to you
of the entire event, you must decide what that is for you, be it:
The Facility, location
The Dress
The Music
The Dance Floor
The Flowers
The Photography
The Celebration with their Man!
Once you have decided where your WOW FACTOR is, then you can create your own
etiquette and budget with your families.
In Years Past:
The Brides family was responsible for the following:
The Ceremony, Reception and all the details, Brides Attire and Florist
The Grooms Family was responsible for the following:
Rehearsal Dinner, Alcoholic Beverages, Photography and Honeymoon
Once again, create your own Etiquette and your own Budget. You could read many, many
books and all of them will be just a bit different, so don’t let anyone or any book tell you
and your families what is right for you, and who is to pay for what. You decide together.
